This rapid adoption of GenAI technologies is accompanied by mixed reactions. With current studies claiming that using ChatGPT significantly reduces brain activity (Kosmyna et al., 2025), many are concerned about the long-term effects of reliance on AI for knowledge construction. However, many scholars argue that AI integration is not simply about adding new technologies but rather calls for a fundamental reimagining of educational systems. As Almufarreh and Arshad (2023) assert, AI has the potential to transform learning environments to be more personalized, efficient, and responsive provided it is used critically and intention-ally (Stewart & Rodgers, 2025).
